Greetings from home

I want to praise God for the experience I had during the two weeks at the Bible Missiological school in Chad. There were 10 students who were eager to learn. They gave me an opportunity to improve my teaching skills.

Thanks to all of you who have prayed for the safety of my family and my time in Chad. I found my family in good condition inspite of the continuous unrest in the country.

Pray for a leadership conference planned by CIDEL  for next Wednesday with the students of the university and for seminars with some churches in town. We are still active even in a difficult time.

Thanks for your support

Greetings,

As I think about a Pastor being a Minister of the Governement of Transition in this critical time in CAR, I said to myself, I need to pray everyday for him so that he will not fail in his leadership.

I want you to specially pray for Pastor Josue Binoua former Minister of Interior of the former President and Minister of Religious Affairs of the current President and now Minister of Public Security. Pastor Josue is now processing to voluntary disarmament of the ex-rebels with Police officers and Gendarms.

You may heard that not far than last month that the disarmament was done by the ex-rebels in the district of north of Bangui that has caused the death of some people. My prayer is that the Pastor in charge of public security will be granted with God's wisdom to manage the public security. His failure may be seen as a failure of Pastors with unpredictable consequences.

Thanks to consider that request in your daily prayer.

Greetings from the Missiological Bible School in Chad,

The first week with the students of the Bible School of Missiological Studies here in Moundou, chad went very well. Since Monday September 2 till today, we have 5 hours of class everyday. I am teaching the students on the importance of writing. An African author said: "In Africa an old person who dies is like a library that is consumed by a fire". Amadou Hampate Ba was challenging African to move from oral literature to written literature in order to keep their knowledge in a paper for the next generation.

As ministers of God we have the good news to share with people and writing is another way to communicate with people beyond our context. Students are challenged to think about the many cultural, spiritual and other problems that Africa is facing and that there is few writers who can address the issues in a biblical way.  They were asked to do exercices on how to choose a theme, write a plan, write an introduction and a conclusion.  Please pray that God will raise up new authors in an African context among those students.

I have one more week to finish my training and head back home. Larry Dearmey (the Director of that school) will spend the third week with the students helping them to learn how to use the Bible Online on a computer. My departure to Ndjamena the capital city will be next Saturday. There I will be able to meet some Pastors and friends who can help me find ways to plan seminars for those in position of authority. A friend  who is promoting non violence in his Christian Association here in Moundou went to Ndjamena and has a plan to discuss the opportunity of having me organize leadership and anti corruption seminars with some Ministers of the Government. I appreciate your prayers for the opportunity to set some future plan for the leaders of this country before I can go home.

My family is doing fine back home in CAR. I can reach my wife by phone and email and I praise God for his protection.

Greetings from Chad,

I praise God that my wife Marie Helene encouraged me to fulfill my commitment to the Bible School of Missiology in Chad. On Thursday the airport of Bangui was taken over by the population of the district of Boeing who fled the rebels of Seleka. It's was not sure that I could travel the next day. Together with my wife we prayed and said that if God allow that the airport be opened, it's a sign that he wants me to travel to Chad and teach my course. I went to the airline company to be assured of the trip. They said that they don't know for sure if the airport will be opened or not, but they asked me to come to the airport anyway. By faith I packed my luggage and arrived at the airport yesterday at 7 AM.  Yes, the airport was opened and a West Africa airplane ASKY landed. Finally I could make my trip to Ndjamena and was welcomed at the airport by the Director of Bible School of Missiology Larry Dearmey who arrived in Chad some days ago from Columbus, OH. We drove from Ndjamena to Moundou that took us 8 hours (500 km).

Our  training session will begun on Monday September 2 till September 16. I will teach on the methodology of writing  Christian papers, the importance of reading books. While I am here in Chad, I trust God to protect my family and take care of them. The unrest in CAR is a great concern. I was encouraged by a friend who sent me an email and reminded me of Psalms 85. We need God's forgiveness and blessings to be recovered for our political crisis.

Thanks for your prayers and support.

Greetings,

Thanks to all of you for your continuous prayer support. The Central African Republic is facing an unpredictable time of unrest since the political change took place in March 24, 2013.

We don't know what is going on and when things will calm down. We need intervention! morely God's intervention in this critical time of our history.

The Bangui airport is still occupied by the unsecured population who live near it. No airplane can land or take off. I have planned to travel to Chad for two weeks of training at the missiological Bible school tomorrow.
We appreciate your prayer for our life situation.

Dear prayer supporters,

Paul and Genevieve just have a new baby boy in their family last Saturday. They are one of the couples my wife and I have been part of their marriage. They live in a family where a baby boy do not live longer. Paul is the only boy in his family. When he was born, his father sent him as a tiny baby and his mother to stay with his friend's family. His father did something traditional with the welcome family. Sending his new baby to stay with another family is like exchanging his child to avoid the death. Because Paul and Genevieve have a baby boy, they decided to not do like Paul's parents did but send his wife and his son to my home for prayer and spiritual encouragement to his wife.

Since yesterday we have a new baby boy in our home. The parents brought the baby, I spent time reading some Bible verses with them. I shared history about Jesus' enfant time where he was born in Bethlehem, brought to Jerusalem for circumcision and sacrifice than to Egypt to avoid Herod's anger than back to Nazareth his home village.

Please pray that the time Genevieve and the little Schamma Jericho (name of the baby) will spend in our home will help them to see God's protection and grace for them. Pray that the baby will grow strong and will become a follower of Jesus. My house is full of people at this time. I will be travelling to Chad for two weeks of Bible training at the School of missiology. Pray for the protection of my family during my time away.
Last night a neighbord was looted by bandits. At 11 PM we heard lot of noice near our property. We learnt that people with guns were close to our home and one asked if my property is the one they need, others said no the next, than they went and looted the home. My family is safe, protected by God. We are happy that God answer to our prayers by sending his angels to protect us.

We greatly appreciate your prayers.

Below is the picture of the new baby and his parents.

Dear prayer supporters,

I did stop my class at the Campus 4 Christ' Institute of Evangelism and Leadership yesterday after 45 mn of the 4 hours I had. There was a military emergency at the camp close to the Institute. We did not understand what was going on so we decided to leave the classroom under a heavy rain. I was on a mopet and was deeply emerged by ythe rain. Praise God I arrived safely at home.

We heard later in the evening and during the night lot of gun shutting in a neighborhood north of the city. It's'was said that the rebels of Seleka when to Boy Rabe to disarm the militaries of the former President. Many people fled and hide themselves in hospitals, cathedrals and there were some killing and looting.

We have three big churches of our denomination in that neighborhood as well as many friends. We don't understand why such disarmement is not done with the participation of the foreign legal military in the ground!

This sad event took place two days after the President has taken his official vow for the transition period. Please pray that the political leaders will have wisdom to restore peace and security in the country. My family as well as the missionaries downtown are fine.

The other picture is for my wife and two of our children who were celebrating her birthday yesterday. The third picture is with one of the graduates of the missiological school. The fourth picture is with the university teachers who graduated from the University center of Pedagogy today.

Greetings from the heart of Africa,

I had the opportunity to be welcomed by the Ambassador of Cameroon in CAR today in his cabinet. Last saturday during the graduation ceremony at Bangui Evangelical School of Theology where I attended, I presented myself to the Cameroonian Ambassador who was also invited to that ceremony because some students from Cameroon received their diploma.

I went to report to the Ambassador about my recent training mission to Cameroon where I had the opportunity with Pointman Leadership Institute's instructors from South Africa, England, Swtizerland and Cameroon to deliever an ethical leadership principles and a strategy to fight against corruption to custom officers and magistrates and attorneys of Cameroon. The Ambassador was pleased to hear the report and to learn about my ministry that begun since 2005. He presented himself as one of the pastors in Cameroon that God has appointed to such diplomatic job. We shared the same common burden and saw a great opportunity for Christians to make different in this world.

It's was a real priviledge to spend time praying with the Ambassador in his cabinet and have an open door to see him again. I praise God for the opportunities he gives me this week to meet the Minister, Director of the Prime Minister cabinet and now the Ambassador of Cameroon.

Your prayers are a great help to my ministry in this difficult ministry environment I am facing in the Central African Republic. The pastoral ministry is not easy nowadays. Yesterday a Pastor who is the President of the Association of Evangelical Churches in CAR and Counsellor in the National Council of Transition (Parliament of Transition) was arrested and put in jail. He was accused of preaching against the Government last Sunday. By the grace of God is was released this morning. I will learn more about this sad event. Please pray for the CAR and the situation we are in since the change that took place in March 24, 2013. Eighteen months were set for the transition period and than a democratic election must take place. Your prayers are needed.
